I suppose that they are for adjusting the transpose element in tune. the superior screw unlocks and the one below inside the square adjusts. Any one could tell me if am I right or wrong? But As I said there I haven't tried yet if it works for this or not. It's a topic no-one seems to reply because it's not in the original manual those gibson guys are laughing at us for sure. r2bflash Posted December 18, 2011 Share Posted December 18, 2011 The screws you are referring to should not be adjusted once they are set. They adjust the amount of (what some members call) slop in the trem arm. In other words it will make the locking mechanism tighter or looser when you lock the trem arm down in any transposed position. Once this is smooth you should leave these adjustments alone. It has been a while since I even played my Z guitar so I went back to Steinberger Yahoo group and did a search there for the answer. I remember adjusting them just to see what would happen and it can really mess up the way the TT locks if you get it adjusted wrong. I think one warning was do not over tighten them.
