Resources for Rumba/Latin guitar?

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if it's even Rumba that I'm looking for. It may be more Sor or Belario I'm after. If you people know of them, Jesse Cook and Ottmar Liebert would be the closest things I can say to describe the kind of rhythm guitar I am looking for. All I know for sure is it's NOT traditional Flamenco playing I am wanting to learn more about.

I know there's YouTube and I found some good stuff there. But anybody know of other good resources out there for that slower, percussive, fingerstyle, Latin and Flamenco influenced, rhythm guitar playing?

There's a really good duo called "Gabriella and Rodrigo". Check out her you tube video, she explains how she plays rhythm and drums on her guitar. She shows how to brush the strings with the fingers and thumb several times for each strum while slapping the top of the guitar. She's fast...

He plays the lead, lots of tremolo and triplet with alternating fingers and thumb.

Posture! Loose wrist!

Good luck!
