Hello,
I just picked up a used Epiphone Firefly 30 DSP at a local pawn shop today. It's pretty clean, but I've noticed a "sizzling" sound coming from the speaker even on the clean channel (channel 2). It's most noticeable as a note or chord begins to decay. What it sounds like is what you'd here from a tube amp that has the master volume cranked up so as to give it some overdrive. I suppose if I were playing with distortion I wouldn't even notice it, but I play mostly blues and want a great clean sound. I pulled the back off the cab and removed the speaker to see if the cone was cracked, split, or damaged in any way, but to the naked eye it looks fine. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, what do you advise?
Thanks,
- Tom West
