Is this inverted 'T' anything to indicate which Pickup this is or is it just a random mark? Thanks for any help.

last weekend i picked up a couple of guitar bit's and pieces at a flea market one was a bag with a couple of Pup's in it. One of these Pups was in a seperate bag with '490 neck' written on the masking tape that was wrapped around the end of the bag. I naturally assumed it is a 490R. I've just been having a look at it and found a marking i don't understand. Below the 'Gibson USA' sign on the base plate, towards the edge opposite the pole pieces there appears to be an upside down 'T'. If the label had not been on the bag, i may have thought this to be a 498/500T to be used in the bridge position.
Is this inverted 'T' anything to indicate which Pickup this is or is it just a random mark? Thanks for any help.

Measure the distance of the pole spacing. .. A total of 52 mm would indicate that it is a bridge pickup, and a total of 50 mm would indicate that it is a neck pickup. Measure from the centres of the outer 2 pole screws.

All sparks will burn out in the end.

Regardless of what people say I have the 490/498 in my Les Paul studio and I love them. They are versatile and can do pretty much anything!
