I have been playing Gibson basses for a good while now, I have 2 five string Thunderbirds which I play consistently.

I recently purchased a Gibson Les Paul 5 String bass.. and I am wondering if there are any of you good folks who may know more about these basses. I would like to know more about what I have. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.. even if there is some information within this forum (I tried searching, couldn't find anything after a quick search).

hi Knifedge, welcome aboard! can you post some pics and the specs of your LP? it would help answer your questions.
also, check out one of these websites, lots of Gibson bass fans on each.

yes some Posted Image would be very helpful as I don't recall a Gibson 5 string Les Paul bass, there is an Epiphone version.

I've seen other 5-string LP basses, but I think they are pretty rare. Would love to see some pix as always

Here's a "real" one it's a 1994 LPB-3 Premium top 5 string. Rare bird, but you'll find 'em from time to time.
