I'm finally, finally old enough to post this @ my Mid-Life Crisis point,

Attached you will find a Zip file containing what you need to utilize most of the latest features and changes to Serato Scratch Live version 2.3.

A lot has changes over the past year, but even more was finally fixed in the most recent version 2.3
If any of you have tried to use the 68 mixer w/ ANY controller (including the dicer) you probably witnessed a 'ghost in the machine' spitting out random often troublesome MIDI messages...
Thankfully all that has been resolved, and I've been able to give my little version out to a few key DJs who are using SSL and the feedback was pretty good.

I have to thank Jungleboy & Serafin + other DJs, for their contributions and MOST OF ALL THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE - if you are still using SCS3.. if not try it again, i think you will enjoy.

NOTE: this is a personally created preset NOT an official Stanton release, i made this in my own time off the clock.
I made it keeping 80% of the original functions in place.. except for the few changes noted in my SCS3Pak-B-SIDE's-SSL-2.3.JPG image.

And this preset only currently only works on TWO DECKS. I need a modified DaRouter preset to switch to four Decks.. which I'm still working on - this poses an important question should we have a Seperate preset? One for video guys (utilizing two decks that switch A/V on off) the other being primarily audio allowing all 4 decks ?

JUST the Changes to the original XML

There are a few XML options to choose from but the SSL2.3 B-SIDE SuperKnob +++ is the most recent one that matches the JPG explanation of the changes. the others are for you to switch to / create your own version of the superknob / loop roll changes...Attached File  SSL 2.3 B-SIDE.zip (2.65MB)

Hi,

Thank you very much for your work on SCS.3 presets. I'm one of the poor guy having dust on my SCS.1 (1m+2d) and SCS.3 (1m+2d) complete systems.

I was happy over the week-end to clean up the dust away of my SCS.3 and include them again in my past year DJ setup : 2 CDs (pioneer) + 2 Vynils (technics) + 1 mixer (allen&heath) + SSL4 + 3 iPads to manage Ableton, Video-SL and Resolume

To answer your question, yes the Stanton SCS systems were supposed to be good enough to gig with if the software & presets were up-to-date, but Stanton never worked to finalize nor their DaRouter releases neither their presets. But yes, a DaRouter config for 4 decks with the presets including the simultaneous management of audio and video within Serato Scratch Live is a must, especially since you could link it with Ableton Live. To be honest, SSL, VSL and Bridge are to my point of view very efficient, especially if you midi map VSL crossfader to match your scratch moves.

I've spent so many bucks for those 2 systems and I'm still waiting without that much hope for updates.

In fact I'm, like a lot of other client, an angry client of Stanton SCS systems, because of their software, but you give me over the week-end, one reason to enjoy, will say finally, my SCS.3 system.

I agree therefore that I didn't spent time on SCS presets, because my Lemur, then my iPad, were more efficient than the SCS software based controllers.

Best regards.

Have fun and take it easy.
DJ IT

PS : the second part of your life could be more fun than the first part, believe me ... sorry for my frenglish lol

If you look at the original image showing the template it's basically the same as mine.
You have to tap VINYL twice until it turns purple, then you can use the center of the 3d to scratch the song/video. Remember it's not as absoloute as using the vinyl timecode but it works in case of emergency.

Hope this helps,
B~

You Need RANE hardware for Scratch live to Work. After that the SCS3 system can be used to control the software.

If you check your XML file it should have:
Not sure what this one is Think it is Jog wheel Search
<Control name="Platter Control Right" channel="1" event_type="Note On" control="4" key="ctrl" />
Turn "Scratch ON Right"
<Control name="Platter Control Right" channel="9" event_type="Note On" control="89" />
Right Platter
<Control name="Platter Control Right" channel="9" event_type="Control Change" data_type="Relative Binary Offset" control="76" />
Turn "Scratch ON Left"
<Control name="Platter Control Left" channel="8" event_type="Note On" control="89" />
Left Platter
<Control name="Platter Control Left" channel="8" event_type="Control Change" data_type="Relative Binary Offset" control="76" />

You should be able to change these and map any preset or midi controller you just have to change the midi Control="#"
