GIBSON SG SERIAL NUMBER

Am new to this forum.
Trying to identify manufacture date and any other information on a Gibson SG.
Serial no. 737019

Does anyone know how to get information from the serial number?

The serial number won't tell you much beyond 1971-1973.

Some of the members can identify the year from some good photos of the guitar.

Post some pics - good focus - no angles - well lit - a straight overhead shot of the whole guitar, a shot of the front of the headstock, and a shot of the back of the headstock that includes the top end of the neck area.

Get an account on a picture hosting, they're free, like Photobucket - http://wwww.photobucket.com/ - Upload your photos there. If the words "MADE IN USA" appear below the serial number it would be from between 1970-1972.
