Howdy,
I joined this site yesterday to learn a little more about my Les Paul...but...
I saw this Slingerland forum and have a question or two regarding a set I have that I'm planning on trading to Guitar Center.
The set is from the late 1940s according to the style of the logo badge (brass cloud style). The set is a Radio King with a 26" bass, a 14" snare and 16" floor tom and I haven't pulled the mounted tom out of the closet to measure it yet. They are in excellent condition with all of the original hardware, Zildjian cymbals, etc. The beater for the bass drum is even some kind of cloth or canvas ball and most of the heads are original calf skin.
Being that I am trading them, what would be a decent ballpark value for them?
I took them to GC one time but they told me they had no one qualified to appraise them and gave me an email address to send pics and descriptions to, I'm waiting for a reply now. Its a really nice old set but I need some equipment for my home studio and already have a decent set of Tamas.
I'd really appreciate any input.
Thanks,
