Interested in Stanton SCS.4DJ? is it worth it or full of bug?
Anybody would be interested in commenting to create a list of all the bug you have faced, have fixed and how?
I'm interested in Stanton 4DJ but after some research it seem like an unfinished product.. is it stable and good enough for real pro mixing in clubs?
I really like the fact that you don't need a computer... but if it's sh..itt then f..u..it

I have used it very succesfully in pro club environments for the last 6 months. I have needed to play an emergency CD a couple of times but this is inevitable for most computer-based systems though.
The best way to work it problem free with V2.1
- use USB media that is fast enough for the SCS4/Linux , you may need to try out a couple of different thumb drives / SD cards with different formatting FAT32/NTFS depending on the model
I use SDXC cards that work really well with FAT32
- organize your library well, always run the analysis in a computer
- avoid delay effect, this can bring the unit to halt under certain conditions (see dedicated forum post)
- avoid playing with fx when the unit is scanning/analyzing new tracks that have not been pre-analyzed on the computer, this might under certain conditions lead to distorted sound which will require reboot
- take note that the unit needs to check the library upon startup which takes anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes depending on your libary size (I have 3000+ songs and I recall it scanning over a minute to be able to play)
AND
I would definitely recommend this product. For the mobile DJ it is a brilliant solution, lightweight and easy to set up.
It's also a lot of fun to play with, You can do some real scratching with it. For the price tag this unit is unbeatable.
It has certainly improved my DJing, I moved directly from CDs since the whole laptop thing seemed too unreliable and complicated for me.

I agree with Darth. Sometimes there might be an issue, (i've only had the delay issue) but if you know what caused it.. don't do that again
I'm sure they will fix the bugs !!
So I think the Stanton SCS4DJ is some nice equipment

The hardware is pretty solid for the price
software is buggy like darth said above dont use delay
use quickgrid on ur computer to scan your music before loading it on the scs4
if you have a huge collection remember max amount of songs is 20 thousand
the more songs or playlists you have the slower the browsing speed
if you have over 8 gigs of music i suggest using only playlists and not using the browse function at all its slow as a dead turtle
find a fast usb drive 64 gig patriot is pretty good check out amazon for a good price
get a usb keyboard for searching its much faster typing it out
playlists do not show artist just the title of the song
hopefully there will be more updates to the software but for the price its a decent deal for an all in 1 system
