Well - Doubt that I am worthy to hang out here but I finally decided to do something I have always wanted to do, learn to play the guitar. My youngest graduated college in December so my obligations are fulfilled and now I am going to have some "me time". Went to my local Guitar Center, bought a LP Studio '60s in Ebony satin and a Vox VT40 and signed up for lessons. I'm just downright giddy. Just to hold it gives me goosebumps. First lesson went well, a little intimidating but I am determined. Man I love Gibsons and the great ones who play them.

Welcome to the wallet draining world of guitar playing! Most important thing is to stick with it, and practice as much as you can and above all enjoy!!

Welcome, learning guitar is a noble endeavour. I started many moons ago with a guitar that you needed muscles on your knuckles just to get the strings to reach the frets
you've picked a great guitar to learn on, good luck and have fun. Check out Vanderbilly for free lessons, all levels.
