You can shred on anything, as long as you have the skill. Why you would want to shred, is beyond me.

All about preference, some people play faster on fatter necks which Les Pauls are know to have. Some people play faster on thin necks like Ibanez guitars have. Don't believe anyone but your self when it comes to guitars and music.

It's not the guitar.

It's the person holding it.

If you have to ask whether or not you can shred on any guitar
then the answer is definitely that YOU cannot! [lol]

All above posts are correct, IMHO............."Just sayin' ".............
Many guitars, including; Gibson, Fender, Warwick, Epiphone, ESP, Ibanez, Hamer, Peavey, M.K., Dean, Xavior. Trumpet, violin, viola, keyboards, harmonicas, various effect units, Egnater, Peavey, Vox and other tube amps, various other amps and cabinets, Recording Studio based around a Korg D3200, lots of errors and mistakes, no regrets.

Really? Ditching a good guitar like an LP will make you better?

Ditch that advise and get a qualified teacher.

The cool thing about guitar is you can LEARN anything you want with enough practice. Quality instruction will get you practicing and learning better.

Google yourself....I HAVE seen vid of you BURNING on a Les Paul.

They say a lot of the greatest players are the 'dead' ones. Both are arguable.

If you do that...then I am going to go see it.

If a dead guy can play again, then I could go out and see music again.
