T Bone
I think it should read: Wow! a Marshall is really a Bassman at heart . What he said. As Svet pointed out, the original Marshall's were essentially a direct copy of the Fender Bassman. For good reason, those were some of the best sounding amps ever produced. Try buying an original example these days. They were too rich for my blood even back in the 1990's when I was collecting vintage, and had 6 50's and 60's tweed Fender amps. Thousands (and thousands) of dollars. The new Bassman Ltd. Reissue, while not by any means a direct copy of these, is also a very good amp. One I hope to buy this year if I can find enough work in my trade to support a few other planned purchases first.
