Unmastered Original Zeppelin studio recordings?

I received some .RAR files awhile back, with names of Zeppelin songs on them. Ramble On, Heartbreaker, What Is And What Should Never Be, and Whole Lotta Love... I didn't think much of them.

When I extracted them and looked in the folders, I was confused. I found about 8 or 9 different mp3 files in each folder; all the same length. I opened one, and I was greeted to an acoustic guitar playing Ramble On. Nothing special. I opened another, and it was the Vocals to Ramble on...by Robert Plant himself.

Yup, I have the original, Unmastered versions of the above songs, in Individual instrument and vocal tracks. I loaded an entire folder into Audacity, and it was magic...the levels were unbalanced, but there was no doubt; it's Zeppelin, in the studio. On Ramble On, you can even hear the tape reel at the very end of the recording. Yes I said Tape reel.

If anybody would like these for their listening pleasure or whatever, I'm uploading them as Zip files and I'll add a link to this post tomorrow.

Awesome! Can't wait for the link, have you ever heard of using files from Rockband and Guitar Hero as studio multitracks? If you get the .mogg files and put them in Audacity you end up with all the split mix tracks, most of them being the studio masters except for the few rerecorded covers.

I got Heartbreaker downloaded and imported into DP5. It's cool but I wish they would have left the tracks mono so I could have more control over dynamic's.

The tracks came to me in this format. Can't really do anything about them.

Yeah, it's cool man. I could re-do them mono for my system but I'm to lazy [biggrin] and went ahead with the stereo one's... There just MP3's in my bedroom studio so it's not going to be "good" quality on my end any-how's.

Thanks again buddy!

I asked over in the Band's official web forum's about the legitimacy of them and they deleted my post so I have deleted all the file's from my computer and taken down my only upload of the mix I had made.

I'm sorry Jimmy, Jason, John-Paul and Robert, I was too excited about getting my hands on them I just didn't think.

I don't see why you deleted them off your computer...but to each his own. I will continue to distribute them in private, as I believe people have the right to hear it.
