Lonesomeblues
Any one else get one of these? My first p90 guitar and it sounds great! Stays in tune for a few songs, intonation isn't bad and the p90s are sweet! Who else got one and liked it? Any one mod theirs? If so, how?!? bonzoboy
Cool guitar and at a great price. I love the sparkle of P-90s and frankly wouldn't change a thing except maybe the tuners f the ones on her weren't quite up to scratch. Some people may have a knee-jerk reaction to swap out the pups but this generally is an unnessessary expense as Epi pickups are quite good as is and although this may have been the case back in the early '90s,the newer P-90s are much much better,I have an '08 Casino and the pups in her are great. Stays in tune for a few songs, intonation isn't bad and the p90s are sweet! Who else got one and liked it? Any one mod theirs? If so, how?!? I love my el cheapo! It sounds great, feels great to play. Playing this guitar made me a P-90 convert which led to the resent aquistion of a Gibson Studio 60's Tribute with P-90s. Even though the Gibby is a better guitar, the Epi Special does run a decent second and still gets a lot of my playing time. The fretboard on my special is listed as rosewood but it looks and feels like plastic. But nevermind all that, it plays and feels great! I do plan to change out the tuners and I already have a Badass styled bridge for it. But I keep hesitating to make the changes because it does sound very good as is and it's a pleasure to play. Something about if it aint broke, don't fix it or something like that. The tuners really aren't vey good at all. Mostly because they are difficult to tune with but once you have found tune, it stays. Eventually I'll replace the tuners and install the Badass bridge so I can I can adjust for intonation. Also thinking about a Bigsby sometime later. Lonesomeblues
cool pics, I love the wood finish, the red is cool too. Mine is black, I'll try to post some pics tomorrow. Has anyone tried to adjust the pickup height yet? My neck pup is has more bass and my bridge pup has more treble. I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm waiting untili have time to obsess over it and adjust the poles too. It sounds great now, I'm just curious if I might like it better with the pups raised or lowered. This is my first p90!!! Man am I happy with this guitar! It reminds me of my old Gibson LP studio lite that I let go of a long time ago. That was a sweet one too! I haven't changed the strings yet but they are a little too thick for me I think. Thanks Epiphone!

Be real careful and make sure that you have a proper fitting screw driver because those adjustment screws are really cheap. I already stripped one my neck pup. Luckily, it's about where I wanted it anyway.
