niemepet
Maybe now I can upgrade my 1st Run Robot and install Bigsby. Seems like the tuner is in the headstock. Product is called Tronical Tune: http://www.tronical.com/
geebake
That is very, very interesting. So, if I'm understanding this, they've shrunk the robot system to the point that it can all fit on the headstock. No more need for the body electronics? Is this available or a pie in the sky kind of project? Any rumors about the price? I think I need 10 of these. CharlieP
This actually sounds like we are getting somewhere! Get rid of the clunky system we have and put on a system that is not dependant on MCK and Ribbon Cables and Ceramic tailpiece. It is self contained and you can upgrade the rest of the guitar guts with standard guitar parts and electronics. Use any PUPs and pots.

GuitarBuilder
I discovered this a while back as well. I'm very interested in retrofitting some of my guitars, but I'm concerned that Gibson will not allow Tronical to sell these separately. Has anyone seen any information on availability and where to buy these?
niemepet
I'm concerned that Gibson will not allow Tronical to sell these separately. Tronical has old PowerTune in their Webstore. So why not this new one? Has anyone seen any information on availability and where to buy these? Not yet... http://www.tronical.com/tronical-tune-registration/
vexorgtr
My curiosity is how the new system "listens" for string pitch. The existing system was peizo bridge based... the strings are dead up at the headstock, so I wonder if there's a pickup elsewhere.
CharlieP
I certainly would pay $299 for it! I have a Tele and Strat too!
vexorgtr
I'd love to see the version that would tune a Ric 12-string.

vexorgtr
I will thank Tronical for their system though... it actually does get me to play more... and experiment more.

Product is called Tronical Tune: http://www.tronical.com/ I wonder what the battery life is? What is the weight? Does it make the headstock top heavy? DiamondJig
From the vids this looks like a dream system. In one of the vids he manual detuned and he didn't have to pull out the keys, just turned. It's very fast, still has the locking tuners. Only question is the battery.
CoreyT
I would so get this for my new '61 SG Reissue I just got if a shop could install this.

Casper_mm
And for 50 euros more you get a complete guitar with the system? Seems strange My link
kidblast
I do a lot of alt. tuning, this would be the bomb! but... in doing all the alt. tuning I do, I go thru G strings pretty quickly.
CharlieP
I guess Tronical is blowing smoke up our backends! Since I registered interest months ago, I have heard nothing. Seems like I mentioned replacing my tuning system on my Robot and they ignored me. I also told them I was interested in installing on a regular LP.
