Murph
I broke the small E string last night on my new ES-339. I haven't broken a string in years. I haven't brought a spare guitar to a gig in years. I will Sat. night..... The saddle on the ABR-1 looks to already be getting cut by the string. Does anybody use the Graph Tech saddles? Like em? Not? Thanks. Murph.
ALIEN8
I have them on my Strat, and love them. Can't help with the Gibson though...
brundaddy
Make the swap, they're great!! I have em on all my Gibsons that I use for punk gigs (heavy-duty downstrokes were breaking the strings right on the saddles). Also use GHS Fast Fret... between the graphite saddles & Fast Fret, strings last forever and stay bright & lively. If the axe is brand new, the saddle slots may need some careful breaking in with a triangle file or simply working the strings back and forth in their respective saddle slots. Give that a shot before you spend $50 on new saddles. For me when I get wild at a show, good technique goes out the damn window, so I had to buy graphite saddles to compensate for a clumsy drunken downstroke.
