drichard2002
My factory built left handed electric gibson tobacco sunburst with F-sound holes,P-90 single pick-up,trapeze tail piece has the following letter/number combination: Z3427 11 I was told it was purchased new in 1945. When I talked to George Ghrun on the phone he said it most likly a 1942 and the letter Z was the code for Left hand. I Know George Ghrun is the expert but I would like to pinpoint the actual history Anyone Help! drich
BobB
"Z" was the letter code prefix used in Factory Order Numbers (FON) on instruments built in 1952 as Gruhn states in "Gruhn's Guide to Vintage Guitars".
