drichard2002
I have a Les Paul 1968, 1st year of re-issue custom, black beauty with Serial #899348. Its been in my family since the 60's and never played out side. In 2010 George Gruhn appraised it for $11,500. Does this sound accurate for this completely original guitar? pippy
If that's what Gruhn said then yes. He's been in the vintage guitar business since the earliest days so he should know. P.
rct
If you sell it for 11 five then yes, it is. If you sell it for a different price, then no, it's whatever that price was. It's a guitar, it isn't gold, silver, or gems, bonds or securities. It's a guitar, it's worth whatever someone will give you for it. Gruhn is great for an insurance value, but that doesn't mean you can sell it for that until you do. rct
BigKahune
. ^Asking a sell price opinion, or getting an good appraisal - either way it's an estimate of the value - you've got to have a starting place. There just happens to be a completed recent 69 Black Beauty sale on fleaBay for $7,499.99. . (bigsby installed once, holes still there, and a refret) There's also a current 68 Black Beauty sale with a BIN of $8,995.00. . (1 pot and jack plate replaced) .
