They are all high quality maple tops. The only difference is the amount of figure in the top. Here's probably more information than you'll need, but since you asked... Ras El Hanout Posted January 2, 2009 Share Posted January 2, 2009 Hey guys, i just bought a 2007 LP Standard, mint used, and it has the most amazing tiger eye figured wood top, but something like a tobacco burst too, and the color of the burst blends nicely with the mahogany? back/body. i'm just starting to try to find out more about this. I went apeshit in 2008 and bought an ES-339 Figured Top/Custom Shop, Blues King, J-45 Red Spruce Top Custom acoustic, an Ash American Deluxe Strat, a Standard Tele, but i FINALLY got a Standard Les Paul.
