I am new here and have a quick question. I have a new Hound dog Square Neck Dobro on the way and it will arrive on Monday. Since it is new, what setup will be needed/required? This is my first Dobro, so want to start off on the right foot.
Thanks

Hi and welcome...!!
It may well be perfect out of the box...
Good idea to establish string gauges from the supplier for future reference
And very important to know what tuning is used...Dobros etc are used with many different tunings which may alter neck set-up...
Otherwise...enjoy and post pics and sound clips...

Thanks, Versatile. I received the new Dobro bright and early this morning, so I am looking forward to getting to know more about it.
I am starting with what appears to be the most common tuning for the Dobro: GBDGBD. Lots of stuff on YouTube to go through, and I will certainly post a picture of my new Dobro very soon.
Thanks again,

Sounds good C-M-C...
There are many Dobro/Lap-Steel/Hawaiian enthusiasts nearby...
I mostly use open G as mentioned...DGDGBD and open D...DADF#AD
And discovered this year Hawaiian C6...CEGACE...requires special strings...often used on one of two pedal steel courses
Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin have done interesting lap-steel things...
