I just acquired what I believe to be a '57 or '58 GA5 and was wondering:

what year it was made

Does someone make replacement Gibson badges?

I'd love to learn as much as I can about this thing.

I think I found a badge at mojotone. Sent them an email to see if has the tabs on the back or not.

Looks like the original speaker. The last 3 or 4 digits stamped on the outer edge of the housing
will tell you the year and month of production. 0733 would be 33rd week of 57.

I would keep an eye on eBay far repo the Gibson emblem. They have some on there sometimes. Just search Gibson amp and browse thru the amps for the emblems. If the Jensen speaker is original it should have some numbers on it which should tell you exactly what year it is.

On the back panel - yes, there are two of them actually. I've wondered why someone did that...what were they used for..
