  1. Yes, he is a magician! Really kind guy too. Been fun working with him! I dont get excited about much but, I cant wait to see the final result. So far, its looking better than I ever thought it could. Pete Moreno, hes the guy you want. Plus, its cool to know he probably built that guitar when new so, even though refinished, I feel like its still "original".
  2. Here is a link to mine. Look closely.... you can see the outline of the splotches of the other guitar (link above) inside the large splotches on my guitar. These had to be build at slmost the same time. What are the chances of finding this? Pretty incredible :) https://nashville.craigslist.org/ats/d/rockford-gibson-guitar/6862667858.html
  3. Nick, It is just a very strange guitar. It seems to have features from different years. I want to know whst is correct. Strangest thing is a pearl logo with a dotted "i". Also, pat pend milk bottles, brazilian laminate back and sides. White / Black binding. No label, just a "Heritage" ink stamp where logo should be. Neck heel is more round than others.... not the "squished" shape you usually see. I was told by seller that his friend worked for Preston Thompson in Oregon and bought this guitar new. My guess is that he must have been a former Gibson worker? Apparently the guy travelled a lot... kind of a wanderer. Bridge was def changed to non adjust but I can swear I saw outline of belly up (before my son started sanding top). The guitar is currently being refinished by someone who probably helped build this guitar when it was made at Gibson :)
  4. Try this link https://reverb-res.cloudinary.com/image/upload/s--MDKlDw9O--/a_exif,c_limit,f_auto,fl_progressive,g_south,h_620,q_auto:eco,w_620/v1428709594/kz7rf1ptpvdoetkv16ia.jpg
  5. I see this old ad (from reverb) when I search "Gibson Heritage Acoustic" This guitar has blotches on the back that match the marks on mine so.... I know it was made right next to mine. Im restoring mine and want original specs from this one to go on. Will try to post pic below.

  8. Thanks Nick! I cant believe no former Kalamazoo worker ever gets on these boards. Someone MUST know what these numbers are. 5 black ink numbers with a bigger red 2 after it. It doesnt work as a serial number, according to available info. It really doesnt matter.... just, puzzles drive me crazy! Lol
  9. I wonder... I have seen 60's guitars with no serial number and only an ink stamped name in soundhole. Theory ,/ question: Perhaps did Gibson omit numbers and labels on guitars given to musicians as the intention would be to see these guitars "endorsed by use" of the artist? Maybe they didnt want them to just be sold off after being gifted?
  10. Ricky has a Loar that my grandfather sold him back in the 1980's, here in Grand Rapids, MI. Grandpa is gone now but, I always wonder which one it is. Someday I might find pics or paperwork in my moms things.
  11. j45nick, that is great info! The number under mine is very close to yours. Would you happen to know what month you sent yours in for repair? This is so great! I really appreciate everyones replies!! Thank you Also, I wonder if these numbers are non sequential and maybe a part number?
  12. I have a late 1960's Gibson Heritage Acoustic. There is an ink stamped number inside on the bottom of the spruce top. It is 5 digits in black and then a larger red 2. Factory order numbers supposedly ended in 61 according to all ive found. Does anyone know about this?
