  1. When Gibson sent Epiphone to Asia in 1970 the Epi Howard Roberts became the Gibson Howard Roberts. Updated with picture:
  2. Both of my Elitists have American hardware stock, so I doubt that the metric stuff would be right.
  3. Kind of. Epiphone was at one point owned by the same company that owned CG Conn.
  4. I used to have a sunburst one, and I absolutely HATED the Steinburger tuners. I couldn't get them to hold heavier gauge stings than 9s, and I tend to use 12s or 13s. Major problem for me. They're also an odd size post-hole that I couldn't find a suitable replacement for. I traded it for my LPC and am much happier now.
  5. Another vote for the DS-1 here.
  6. I would like to say that I find the Epi Quality Control to be miles ahead of the Gibson. You've gotta spend AT LEAST $1500 to a damn decent fret job from the factory. (For a Gibson) QC is lacking compared to other brands though. I could go get a PERFECT American Special Fender for the same price as the higher end Chinese Epis that need a little work to be good instruments. The choice as a musician is clear. I'd complain about the stickers, but I bought all my stuff used, so... Oh, and while we have Epi1's attention, I would like to put in a request for an accurate reissue Ripper bass, and RD guitar & bass. Preferably the artist, but I guess I'd settle for the standard. PWETTY PWEASE!?!?! Ripper RD Series
  7. Check out this Epiphone by Gibson acoustic for sale on the Nashville Craigslist. http://nashville.craigslist.org/msg/1665712540.html
  8. No ifs ands or buts. TAKE IT TO A PRO, so then you'll know what you're dealing with.
  9. Telecaster...Epiphone....EUREKA! :"TELEPHONE!"
