  2. Last update on guitar stands

    21 May 2013 - 01:27 AM

    Hello!

This is how I finally ended up with the "rose" guitar stand:

It is fixed with two wooden studs - one at each end -, and a screw around the middle.

So that's all! Finish will be applied soon, then the silk pads will be mounted - nothing interesting from now on.

Thank You for following the evolution of the stand. ;)

  3. A great company to deal with!

    15 May 2013 - 04:29 AM

    Hello All!

I just wanted to share my experience with You. Since I bought my LPR in February, I was looking for Shure impedance matching transformer. Ok, You would say, why did it so long to get one? Even tough, many local companies were advertising it, nobody had any in stock, nor they were willing to order just one for me. Ebay? Fine, but the shipping/import tax costs much more than the item itself! So, I have found this company in UK, called Canford.

They didn't had it in stock either, but very quickly got one from the US, and sent me via UPS. The total cost with delivery wasn't exceeding what it would have costed locally - if anyone could sell me one!

I must say, I love to deal with people in the UK. What a great attitude they have! Even because of the purchase of an inexpensive, tiny item, they would send nice, polite e-mails about the status of delivery... That's great!

Here they are. They have fantastic products! Worth checking out: http://www.canford.co.uk/. Probably the next thing I'll buy from them is the Shure X2U, which seems to be an exiting gadget.

Previously, I had a great experience with another British company. They also deserve to be mentioned again: The Guitar Repair Workshop in Manchester. http://theguitarrepairworkshop.com/

So, people in UK, You are great! :)

    Cheers... Bence
  4. Guitar stand update

    14 May 2013 - 02:49 AM

    Hello!

Finally, I've managed to create a headstock for the last guitar stand I was making. This is how it turned out to be:

It's still not finished. Before I can wet-polish it, and start applying the laquer, I've to overcome a shortcoming of the desing. The curved vertical console is flexing under load. I have to reinforce it somehow. Do any of You have a suggestion for that, which would fit the theme as well?

    Thank You in advance... Bence
  5. Another treasure found

    09 May 2013 - 06:40 AM

    Hello!

This one popped up in a local ad today:

    http://www.gitarshop...lektromos-gitar

Not in such a good condition as my Recording is in, but another unique vintage model, quite cheap...

What are Your thoughts? (Not buying - just curious about Your opinions about it).

    Cheers... Bence
