If you have 10 minutes, this short cartoon from 1948 fairly well depicts what has been going on this country and is applicable to today also....amazing! I am not picking sides but , between the two, here we are.

Lets pick and play and share our love of music and Gibson guitars before all else on this forum. I do have strong American citizen opinions and do not want to see our country overrun by a 'tyrannical government' no matter who is leading it.

I love the comradery of my fellow forumites and hate to resort to personal attacks. I will, however, attack back when someone tries to make my viepoints less relevant or to 'imply' that I am not "enlightened" by some of their BS!

I am a senior(59) but not a fossil by any means and more hip and savvy than most younger people that don't know Jack. I have been a Viet Nam protester before I knew what it was all about. Not a good situation! I hold high regards for all of our Miltary men and women and would like to thank them for their service on Memorial Day.

I am about freedom and the American way of life. A way of life that I 'observe' slipping away as citizens become more complacent,dumbed-down and more like sheeple and willing to let "The Gubment" take care of their every need>

But ...What is "TheGubment" but a bunch of elected and appointed people that survive only on the coffers of the citizens... AKA tax payers. They use this money to rule and dictate over the citizens and private businesses in this country....levy fines ....target those and "investigate organisations' that they feel are a threat??

This IS happening. And I am the ''conspiracy theorist" and 'pointy tin hat' wearer for pointing it out????

    Oh Yeah....the cartoon....enjoy!

Anyone who believes that IBD is an independent, unbiased source of news and analysis when there is a political component to it probably believes the moon is made of green cheese, or, more to the point, that 9/11/2001 was a US government conspiracy.

Nick, need I remind you of your comment?

Nice guitar! There are many fans of the CF100 guitars on the forum. I have a '57 and onewileyfool has a '53 I believe. The E version was made from '51 to '58 The FON(factory order number) ranges from 6000's to 9000's in 1951. The rest of the years would have a letter prefix before the FON ranging from Z to T.
Yours is possibly a '51 if you don,t have a letter before the number. I see replaced knobs and tuners. The rest looks 'straight-up'?
    Hope this helps,
    Rod

    Hey Rod,
No longer at the music zoo, the owner and I weren't really seeing eye to eye business-wise. Time to move on and work under my own name instead of being "the guy" at a store.
I am kind of bummed that J-45 I posted still hasn't been picked up from there, so I'll never know how the customer liked it, oh well.

Yep BK777, Thats what I do! I am a very soulfull white man that enjoys playing a singing the Blues and R&B.
Sorry to get off topic with personal rants. We are living through some very 'devisive' times in the USA. The president is devisive and has the Media in tow. The citizenry is split down the middle and this is not the America that I grew up with.
    Its a mess!.......

I feel that I am doing much better than I deserve for all my vices and rowdiness. I will say that I have a good heart and that it goes out to all in need. I always felt that you are a good person and good 'will' come to you in this adverse time!
Miss your 'girl touch' on this forum of heathen 'ner-do-wells'-Ha!
    Welcome back...when you will...Magics wait...

I am sorry to hear that this is happening to you. We never know what awaits us. A good lady friend of mine is going through the same thing. I am lifted by her positive attitude about it and her treatment. It can be beat with the modern technology available these days....so keep the faith! In all honesty, I wish I had the power to heal the whole world of ills.
    Sometimes , I feel that......

Hi Retro, thanks for the message.I miss being here and the wonderful comraderie. I'm not doing the best right now, got diagnosed with breast cancer and have been doing chemo, so pretty sick some days. And the chemo has caused some neuropathy in my fingertips which makes it hard to play. But, I am still playing & trying to stay connected to the forum for inspiration. Hope you are doing well.

Thanks for the video, Rod - nicely done, wasn't it?
The newer pickups are all the 'go' with the guys (and girls?) in their 20s for some reason, but myself would rather eat doggy doodoo than leave the Gibson out in the open.......

ol fred...First of all , how old are you? I'll be 58 this year and have back issues for half of those. Never got a diagnosis from a real Doc, but have been going to the same chiropractor for 12 years or so. That keeps me barely mobile, minimal pain and functioning...Ha!
Are you able to get disability? Don,t know how much longer I can deal with the 'physical nature' of my job...

    Hey Rod,
Same ol,same ol here. To quote Bob Elliot,
"don't get around much anymore" Don't leave the ranch much these days, progressive spinal disease moving way to fast for my taste and severely limits my physical activity. But what can ya do? Just keep on keepin on and make the best of it.
