  1. What are we talking guys ?  ..... I’m a Limey novice wanting some imput from you all .    It’s all a little too tech at the minute.  See I own a Peerless Tonemaster that’s okay for rockabilly,  but it’s slightly bland normally,  until I downloaded a particular fx  and whoopee it’s great !!!
the fx is on my small Fender mustang amp that I’ve downloaded is ..titled  “smoke on the water” .Deep Purple .... I tried it and it’s good for even rockabilly !!!! Or should I say Neil Young stuff.   I digress,  but recently I purchased a ‘cheap as chips’ copy of an Es 295 Gibson  Scottie Moore tribute in metallic blue custom ..... trouble is when it arrived after several months waiting it was faulty,  insofar as the p90 dog ear bridge pickup was loose inside the guitar and no black wire attached !!!! Now I don’t know what to do and whether it matters which way I should put it back for polarity reasons etc, as there is no indication as to where it was soldered ..... sheesh any suggestions guys would be much appreciated ?

  2. Dang - I guess the frequent fliers in this thread went away when the board changed over to the new format and got a new location.
  3. OK - picked it up today! I may have mentioned this guitar earlier in the thread but the stars finally aligned and I was able to buy it for a great price. It's in excellent condition except for the missing pickguard. It also appears that the neck pickup bobbin may be shrinking or deformed or something as the polepieces don't align properly with the cover - still sounds good though. Anyone else experience this issue? Serial number label on this one is missing though, so sorry I can't register it here! From what I understand, there were no Epiphone cases available when the original owner bought it, so he bought a real brown 80's Gibson USA case for it as well, with the pink plush lining and shroud.
  4. Gonna have to send this to the top because I'm officially joining the club tomorrow... News and pics to follow!
  5. Actually, a guitar just like this one is what brought me to these forums. A friend of mine has one and within the next month or so when I recover from a recent bunch of vet bills I'll be buying it from him. So count me in as a "definite future owner." The story goes that he doesn't play hollows and he took this guitar as payment for something else. He's had it in storage ever since. I had it a couple of months ago just cleaning it up and restringing it. It's missing the pickguard. It's in a 1980's "Gibson USA" case with the pink lining and shroud. It's also missing the serial number, unfortunately. Vintage sunburst model. One thing I did notice - and I haven't been through this entire thread yet - is that the pickup bobbins seem to have shrunk or something. The screws don't appear to line up correctly with the covers anymore. The covers don't appear to have been replaced at all and their aging matches that on the rest of the gold hardware. Anyone else have this problem? The pickups are really, generally lifeless too - I'll probably replace them anyway, but it would be nice to have the original equipment on hand and functioning.
