  1. We picked up a Gibson "The Hawk" FOTL a few months ago @ MGR.. FOTL Gibson The Hawk @ MGR It plays pretty darn good compared to the Blueshawk & Nighthawk.. We have since put a SD P-Rail with triple shot switchable ring in the bridge & " A Little Thunder" in the neck along with a separate output jack for the ALT.. " A Little Thunder" ROCK ON!! Gary/Hk
  2. It's a great guitar, Super Hot 500T & 496R Ceramic humbuckers & a NSX Nighthawks ceramic middle pickup, a five way strat switch wired just like a strat in #1 or single coil mode, & in #2 humbucker mode 1 2 3 are you standard three les paul sounds 4 is threw a choke coil that sounds like a wha wha mid swept & 5 is kill or bypass

Pretty much a Les Paul Classic &...

  3. My 1994 Les Paul Studio Lite with M-III Electronics has 500T & 496R + NSX Middle & I think they have mellowed over the 20+ years but are still hot, the guitar has a 300k volume pot & is factory coil tapped & has 9 sounds & just has some scary tones from in your face Dimarzio Super Distortion tones to smooth single coil sounds & a wha pedal fuzz tone.. I like em in this guitar & they may not be perfect for everybody but they sure work out well in the M-III wiring.. 1994 Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite with M-III Electronics
  4. That Schaller bridge is very cool, I've had a few basses with a Schaller with those rollers where I could adjust the string spacing = NICE!! I HAD an Ace Frehley Epiphone & it was an $800 Turd, The neck was all wishywashy & frets were horrid I ended up returning it & bought a Gibson Les Paul @ a different dealer, Pissed the seller off as they were stuck with the Dried Up Turd that they then just tried to pass off as new to someone else there out of business now.. serves em right.. USA Hamers specials are very nice too.. I've always wanted an Archtop Studio since I saw them new as a Kid & I guess that's why I bought this PRS.. 1997 USA PRS CE-22 The Tremolo on this guitar is so smooth & build quality is amazing..
  5. Epiphone released the Blueshawk Deluxe & I figure that Gibson will do so soon too.. Note: Bound neck & flame top Epiphone Blueshawk Deluxe My Blueshawk is a 2006 & the Nighthawk a 2013 Nancy Wilson "Fanatic" Blueshawk has gotten a bone nut & locking Grover tuners, The Nighthawk is 100% factory..
  6. OK I follow you on the Transcale vs Trans Trem They are more a baritone double ball string.. I might just pick both those guitars up IF I can get the seller to come down a little on the prices Which I know I can.. It'll be several months till I can do what I need to do.. Thanks!! Gary/Hk
  7. Thought I'd bump this thread with another pic of my 1994 Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite with M-III Electronics
  8. I would be interested in your findings if you can find a set of strings .009"-.046" or .010"-.046" that would be calibrated for use on the TT My son is interested in a Trans Trem & I know where to buy a used ZT3, I am newbie to this style of trem but have setup most every style of guitar ever made.. I remember when the Floyd Rose came out if that tells you anything.. Thinking hard about buying him this guitar but it will be a couple weeks after Christmas before I can afford it..
  9. That's a pretty pimped out Blueshawk you have there.. Welcome to the Forum!! These guitars are a jem to play.. I've thought of making a Blueshawk/Nighthawk with three P-90s.. One of these days!! My 200th Post Here!!
  10. First I didn't know that Gibson had done that serial # change for 2014, I did know about 1994 as I have one, starts with 94.. I can't believe they rout the pickup cavities like they do, Indexed by the back of the guitar sitting flat instead of by the top..
  11. Hey Rob Welcome to the Forum & Enjoy that 88 Custom

  12. Wow never knew about the Studio Lite MIII, looks crazy to see a Gibson with that middle single coil

  13. The Epi is Really SWEET Looking & can only Imagine that Gibson will release their version sometime soon.. Epiphone Blueshawk deluxe
  14. You should look at the flametop Epiphone Blueshawk that was just released..
  15. Well as some of you may know for over 20 years I've had a Blueshawk, went thru three of them buying & selling like I do but always seem to come back. I had a early Black Blueshawk with the Southern Comfort House of Blues Logo in the face of the guitar that I ended up selling to Guitar Emporium in Louisville, If anyone has this guitar I'd like to buy it back BTW, Then later on we had a Blue one with a black neck, Both of these guitars had the rounded profile like a Nighthawks neck was used, & then the 2006 blue Blueshawk we have currently & the 2013 Nancy Wilson "Fanatic" Nighthawk Standard.. I guess the feel & shape of these guitars really grow on you & my Son has also had one in his hands since he was three & learned to play on the lightweight killer Gibson with a wide array of tones.. Epiphone has just released a Blueshawk with bound fretboard & flamed maple veneer top & would assume that a Gibson Reissue is in the works being they were a good seller & had such great tones with the Blues 90 pickups, 3 way switch, & 6 way rotary varitone plus the dummy coil pickup in the rear which cancels 60 cycle hum when either of the pickups are used alone.. These guitars have a 25 1/2" scale with Rosewood fretboards & have a familiar feel to Les Paul players, Most Blueshawks have a V shaped neck profile like my current one but my other two had the rounded Nighthawk profile, Both of the C shape profile necks were black BTW, I know that doesn't make a difference or maybe it does? Hmmm.. Last year my Son was looking around for a new solid body guitar & was looking at the Les Paul Traditional II @ GC but finally settled on a Gibson Nighthawk as his go to solidbody, We also have a 1997 PRS CE-22 that has filled that role for a while & there isn't a bolt on neck guitar I ever seen that lives up to the feel & sound of this one, Sorry Fender.. I thought I'd share some pictures of the current Lineup of Blueshawk & Nighthawks with the Gibson Forum.. 2006 Gibson Blueshawk & 2013 Gibson Nighthawk Nancy Wilson "Fanatic"
