  2. Top wrapping thread, anyone? Charlie Brown?

    06 August 2017 - 08:29 AM

    Am I loosing my mind?

I'm sure I posted in a thread about top wrapping today but I cannot find it anywhere. Charlie Brown, you'd posted a link to Seymour Duncan. Please tell me I'm not going mad.

    Where is/was it?
  3. Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.

    12 July 2017 - 03:14 PM

I learned on Monday that I almost certainly have one or the other. There's a list of weird symptoms you wouldn't think are related, and a lot that you might, and I have them all.

It represents a bit of a failing by my GP who was treating several of the symptoms separately and based on misdiagnosis, including prescribed diclofenak which it turns out is really bad if you have either condition but I'm actually relieved to know why I'm exhausted, vomiting and in pain a lot.

I'm awaiting various endoscopes to be stuck in places I'd rather not have them but the list of symptoms is so bizarre and having all of them it seems a foregone conclusion. An emergency doctor in A&E connected it all when I turned up on Monday in a lot of pain and vomiting. He felt it was almost a certainty.

I also found out I have a hiatus hernia.

Hoping I do have this because then I can start treatment and hopefully feel better soon. It's been a pretty shitty year.

Any sufferers of either on the forum?

...We collected this stupid thing from a rescue centre. This pic was taken a week or so earlier when we met her...

She was so excited when we entered her kennel. Delirious to be able to play for a few minutes. You can see I'm holding her in place to get the picture because she was climbing the walls with excitement the entire time.

Here she is today. Still just as stupid and still a cute, loveable thing, 40kg of cute and loveable.

  5. Just got home from Barga in Tuscany, Italy.

    14 May 2017 - 05:37 PM

Tuscany isn't somewhere I'd have chosen to go, a very good friend was getting married and we needed a break so off we went.

What a lesson. Quite simply the most beautiful place I have ever been. The people are incredible too.

If you ever get a chance to explore Tuscany, even just a bit, take it.

Absolutely exhausted having travelled from Barga to Lucca by local commuter trains, then Lucca to Pisa, again, by local commuter trains, then Pisa to London, all in 12 hours while taking a whirlwind shot out to see the leaning tower, eat Pizza at a pizzaria with a direct view from about 300yds and grab some tacky gifts but still totally buzzing from the experience.

He fixes x ray machines in the day and makes guitars and fixes string instruments in the evening.
