  1. Or, getting a colonoscopy.....
  2. Pau Ferro is just as real as Indian Laurel. If I were Fender, I'd stain the IL a little darker and doubt that anyone would determine any real difference from RW. It just looks dry....
  3. Maybe it's just me, but of all of the guitar colors, I find blue to be the most "un-natural"....
  4. The issue that I had with cream, is that I wanted to match the pick guard, switch tip and knobs to the covers. There is no standard "cream" color, so the pieces didn't match. Maybe I'm OCD, but that bugged the heck out of me. But, black is black.
  5. The dog ears should have some tabs, that lay against the body. The covers will "capture" the tabs, when the mounting screws go back in. I put a small piece of adhesive-backed felt on the body side of the tab, just to provide a little cushion. That's it, unless you need to shim, in which case, you'd place the tabs on top of the shim. I went from chrome to cream, then black on my Casino. Really changes the look, kinda like a woman changing her hair color.....
  6. Welcome. I love hollow body Epiphones, that's a mighty nice looking one you have there. I wouldn't rush into the pickup swap, play it a bit first. The P-90 idea is intriguing, though. I had a Zephyr Blues Deluxe with 3 of them on it and the neck position is great for Jazz, with the right P-90.
  7. I've always had good luck with Terrapin. If they don't list yours, contact them. They have more. If you have one that fits well, but want a different color, you can send yours (or a template) and they'll match it. I've sent several, inside a magazine, using USPS Media Mail (very cheap) and had the original and the new sent back. I've done Casino, Sheraton, Zephyr Blues Deluxe and Sg that way and been very happy. Plus they do then without the bracket hole, if you want to do the 335 mount. Highly recommended.
  8. I prefer the no-screw look, too. My Casino wears a 3 ply Terrapin guard.
  9. That's the first thing that popped into my head, when I saw his posting......
  10. After trying several different pickup configurations on my Casino, I too, found a used set of Lollar dog ears with the low wind and they nailed the P-90 sound I was looking for. Good on you, to find a set and try them. Best P-90s I've tried. Congratulations on your upgraded Wildcat.
  11. Must be the extra wide binding that brought up his "handy" comment.....
  12. Not sure, and I can't see them now. I still use PB on occasion, but imgur always works, so I'll have to transfer pics over, I guess.
