  1. Buc Please disregard last comment, It looks like I have a guardian angel at Gibson after all. Thanks for the post & info. Best regards and keep strummin'
  2. I know it's a lot to ask, but if you ever happen to run across your original pickguard lying around on the floor and could trace it for me.... I could have it the tracing reversed, and voila! I would gladly make it worth while for you ......
  3. I am hoping somebody out there can point me in the right direction. I acquired a CJ-165 (antique natural)last December, and it is quickly becoming my go-to guitar. I gravitate toward finger picking, but the balance and full tone of this guitar is so incredible that often I find myself strumming away. Hence my problem. The guitar (I bought it new) was supposed to have an optional pickguard in the case - mine did not. I am afraid I will mar the top while strumming and flat picking. I contacted Gibson direct (the dealer caouldn't help)and they essentially said "sorry, you lose". I know I can try to fit an aftermarket guard on it, but I really want an original. I have scoured the internet to no avail. I know Gibson still produces the CJ-165EC, and it comes with an optional pickguard. Any ideas? Does anyone on the forum have any pull with Gibson, or know of a reputable after market OEM outfit a can contact? I am not looking for a freebie, I will pay (dearly if necessary) to protect my baby. Thanks for any advise/suggestions.
