  1. A Hendrix sig Coronet would make more sense than a Strat. 😅 A Zephyr would be amazing. I have a Zephyr Blues Deluxe with 3 P90s which is lovely and all, but it basically can be viewed as a low rent Gibson ES-5. Epiphone has too much heritage to ignore. It’s a solid brand with a historically strong identity that Gibson the company, needs to explore to their own benefit. These “NY” Spectrum pickups are a good step in the right direction, if only aesthetically. Let’s hope they bring back the Carousel/pinwheel knobs while at it. I’m looking for those but ain’t paying vintage prices. 😬
  2. I’d love to see them on anything really. Anyway, I just received word from Gibson support. They say: “Unfortunately, there is no available records in our system ( digital) regarding this pickup type. Also, we didn't receive any official information regarding an eventual re-introduction of the pickup in question.” Hmm, so when is the next NAMM again? 😆
  3. I'll just leave this here. I moved on to greener pastures(Gretsch-talk). I'm assuming it's news to you like it was to me. 8.14 and 8.22K on the MM. Clean leads, protective plastic, never installed. Note the two HB coils peeking their nose out from behind the baseplate. I'm guesstimating it has the same guts of the Pro minis. Can we expect Epiphone updating their archtop/hollow body line and/or Wilshires? Ciggie for scale. They're small.
  4. For those curious, I moved to the Gretsch-talk forum :-)

  5. Just passing through...

  6. I've bought 8 Epi products over the years, none came with stickers. Most other goodies like posters and manual(!) were present tho. I wouldn't mind a few stickers to spread the love... also I'm looking for a suitable replacement for that dunce cap I've been associated with lately.
  7. Looks real enough to me, but I'm no expert on acoustics. Maybe another member can chime in here.
  8. In the last couple of years there have been several reports of Epiphone acoustics with serial GG. 2005 sounds plausible to me. The factory as of yet is unknown. The only way to assure you're getting a genuine Epiphone, is to buy it at a genuine Epiphone dealer.
  9. If it was my guitar I'd buy a new set of full sloped saddles(not the flattened ones) or a new bridge(ABR-1) a cut the grooves a little deeper.
  10. Stewart makes an excellent point. I reckon the quality differs as much in "plywood" as in regular solid woods.
  11. Work? It's just a copy/paste from an old post I made. There's an updated list on the Epiwiki
  12. I have 4 Epi LPs. Next to the Fujigen Japan, the Unsung Korea is my favourite. I changed the PU to Seymour Duncan Alnico2 Pros. Definitely worth it.
