Topics I've Started

  1. Tell Me About The......

    09 November 2017 - 06:55 AM

    J-15 Walnut.

I might be working on a trade for one (my Custom Shop ES-339) but I seem to remember a thread about them being "not durable" due to the back seam, or the way they are sawn, or something.

I wasn't paying much attention at the time (you're shocked, I know...) but I remember thinking perhaps it was a real issue.

    Refresh my memory.
  2. BattleBots...

    26 October 2017 - 04:31 AM

Late to this party, I guess the Science Channel is re-running them, and a buddy mentioned it and I've watched several now.

    I don't understand why this wasn't a success.

Mankind has been fighting each other, chickens, dogs, etc. since the dawn of time.

It's got fighting, technology, engineering, fire, crashes, gambling opportunities, and nobody gets hurt.

    Oh wait.......
  3. The Addiction......

    23 October 2017 - 04:42 AM

I usually just post my originals on the ACOUSTIC side, but I know there are a lot of giggers here in the LOUNGE.

This is a song about the addictive nature of performing live. And the NEED we have to play.

Gigging bars for some 35+ years will take it's toll on you, I've always said guitar playing is one of the few jobs where you are not only ALLOWED to drink on the job, it's actually EXPECTED.

Anyhoo, I've been clean for almost 20 years, and sober for almost 8 but I still NEED to play.

  4. The Addiction....

Guess what this one is about.....

  5. A Little Help From The Asylum......

    19 October 2017 - 04:39 AM

I've been giving lessons to a special needs young man. I guess he's been hinting at a new guitar with Christmas around the corner, and somehow got it in his head he like the Dean Colt.

He also has physical limitations and is rather small, and I am concerned about it's size but googled around a bit last night and can't find it's width. His Strat copy is about the same width as my Les Paul Studio at around 13", but when he plays the Lester, even it's modest (under 2") thickness is noticeable compared to the contoured Strat copy.

His parents have asked for my advice, do any of you inmates own a Colt, or have any idea how wide they are? I think I found the thickness at around 1-3/4".

    Thanks in advance.

    Murph.

That fish was taken from my most recent trip to the Eastern Sierras.
I've got a few honey holes that seem to always produce.
It was my oldest son's first trip. He caught a couple nice rainbows too.
Glad to see ya' back in the forums again Murph.
