  1. I've had several Epiphones, and generally, I found the pickups to be of good if not great quality. I swapped out the three P90's in my Riviera P93 with boutique pickups, and regretted it not being stock. I personally think it is about EQ in most cases and it takes a bit of work to get the bridge intonated and the height of the saddles right. Once all of that is done, dial it in and enjoy playing. If the bridge rattles, it is the retainer wire (not sure the name of that piece), I believe. Maybe a Wilkinson roller bridge or another option could be considered? Too many players love these guitars and use them to perform, so I think such problems are minor and typical of any new instrument. Adaptations and adjustments always need to be made, right? Enjoy your Casino! Congratulations.
  2. I am so glad to hear that. I am waiting for mine to arrive this week. I really am looking forward to it!
  3. https://reverb.com/item/28849308-fender-blues-junior-15-watt-1x12-guitar-combo-tweed-free-ship-see-videos I have purchased the above Fender Blues Jr with a lacquered tweed. It is arriving tomorrow. I am looking forward to plugging in my Epiphone Sheraton I bought this past summer. I started to get a Pro Junior and love their sound. For the same money, used, I felt the 12 inch speaker with the Master Volume was a better long term choice for me. Maybe one day I can have the Pro Junior as well. Anyone else have a similar amp?
  4. I had a P93 and should have kept it. This great guy made one professionally for me and it fit perfectly. https://www.wdmusic.com/wd-custom-pickguards.html
  5. Love your collection: guitars and amps, too! The Zepher Blues is on my bucket list for sometime in the future. Thanks for the photos!
  6. Bought a Riviera. I am gladly awaiting my Epiphone! Help me identify it?!

  7. Hi Milod, Hope you are feeling better. I just checked in to see how you are doing. Best regards, Dan

  8. A beautiful J-15! And I love the trio of your two Gibson's and the Epiphone. Awesome and congrats!
  9. I have been a member of the Epiphone Lounge for some time. I have played the guitar for more than 50 years and I am a long time singer/songwriter, playing a Guild D55 for 40 years this June. As a member of the Worship band at church, I felt it was time to get a Gibson to plug in and get that nice clean, full sound. I decided on a Gibson J-35 and am awaiting its arrival later this coming week. I have owned several Epiphone electrics, but never a Gibson acoustic. This guitar is going to be a nice change and I am glad to share my enthusiasm as part of this great forum. Thank you! This was purchased new by me in 1976 at the first Guitar Center in LA on Sunset Blvd. The neck wear is all mine.
  10. Hi Ryder, It sounds like you've done a lot of really great modifications already. That is tough when you are playing in church and you can't depend on your guitar's tuning. Does it have a bigsby? Glad you have joined the Epiphone Lounge!
  11. Before you buy tuners, I would suggest you try a few tweaks that work well. I am a player not a guitar repair expert, but I tried these suggestions a professional suggested to me. The nut slots can be lubricated with a small amount of Vaseline or graphite, which keeps your strings from hanging up. Also work on the intonation of each bridge which will enhance tuning accuracy tremendously. A third fix is to have the nut slots gently filed a bit so that the string slots aren't so tight. I used an acoustic "G" string as a file on the nut on my Riviera and these three actions took care of the problem making the stock tuners effective. I find the Epiphone stock tuners to be fine.
  12. I appreciate your thoughtful answer you provided. Take care! Dan
