If I am going to fork over 4k plus into a guitar, I want mine to be pretty myself. Everyone has their own preference but I would rather put my own miles on a guitar from honest wear. I cannot see where an artificially aged finish ever made a guitar sound better......I can see where it would make it feel broken in though. Enjoy your new guitar!!

From my own other Gibsons from the same era...I always thought it was corian. Yours looks like it too. It can become brittle sometimes too. Bone has more of a sheen to it.

This is just one example and there are a ton more here. The first is a local CL ad and the 2nd is a new model from Sweetwater. I can do without the Murphy lab but this is a prime example to me. It is the same for the standard, classic and traditional runs as well here. If your a fender guy there are some pretty good deals to be had locally. But your $hit out of luck if you are primarily a Gibson player looking for good prices on used ones here in middle TN. https://nashville.craigslist.org/msg/d/nashville-gibson-custom-shop-les-paul/7720628125.html https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LPR58VOWCSNH--gibson-custom-1958-les-paul-standard-reissue-vos-washed-cherry-sunburst

The whole problem with the used market currently is the over priced gear. I do not mind a good deal but some of these guys think their 1-2 year old guitar is still worth as much as brand new one. In most cases it is better just to pull the trigger on a new piece instead of over paying for a used piece.

Your right....and that same retired Zep fan lawyer guy can only play the wipeout riff.....but not the whole song.

Would love some thoughts on my mix of electrics & potential changes

Sell them all and get a tele ๐๐๐๐ -
Well to be honest, I believe your lack of.......pick harmonics are due to the lower output pickups not the guitar itself. The tp6 I had on mine actually killed the tone in my guitars. Yes they are handy for fine tuning but that comes at a cost by taking the natural character of the guitar away. I actually love my r7 goldtop.....it does ring out more acoustically unplugged and has a lower output pickups than my other Gibsons....but to me I like it. but if your new to you goldtop isn't cutting it....well I would try a pickup swap. ..but if your not going to keep it.....I would sell it or return it if possible and get your self a standard if you would like it better. sorry it is t working out for you.

That's ok, ugly guitars need love too!! I have owned about 5 telecasters and a couple of custom spin off ones. I like them but I still think they are of the ugly ducklings in the world of guitars. -

I wouldn't worry about it, telecasters are ugly anyway!!! -
Have you made the swap yet and if so was it a direct drop in? Sorry been away for a while and just saw this

I have only been around thr one my friend owned.....I have never even saw another for sale anywhere in person ever.....there is a h535 for sale here locally I almost bought but he wants a bit too much for it. I got to admit though ...this guitar is super nice and the neck is good and chunky. It plays very well and the stock Duncan pickups sound good too.....but I may swap them out for a custom set I have on order.

I have always kind of wanted one. I picked one up recently. It is a 2023 H150 in the Dirty Lemon Burst finish. The top is a little plain but I kind if like it like that. It really is a very nice quality guitar. I have only been around one other Heritage that my friend has owned since the late 80s and I always thought it was a great guitar. Here are some pics of mine.

Personal taste for sure but I don't do anything like that.....mine are way closer to the body

Looks nice and clean!!! Congratulations and crank it on up!!

I was told it was the wide one....it doesn't feel all that wide of a fretboard to me.....feels like a c shaped back profile.......reminds of pf like a gibson 60s slim on the width of the neck with a more rounded shape. That's the best I can explain it. It plays very well though
