  1. 2017 Firebird T pick up levelers or holders

    22 April 2017 - 09:37 PM

As many of you know I just purchased a firebird 2017 T. It came with plastic pieces under the pick up rings to level the pick ups to the strings. I like it actually and am going to keep them there. Is this the first year they have done this or did all of the previous years models come with them and people took them off? I prefer the pick ups to be level with the strings. On an SG standard large guard I had I stuff a small piece of foam under both pick ups and that did the trick. Just curious.
  2. Guitar polish.... what do you guys use or like??

    25 March 2017 - 04:01 PM

Looking for a guitar polish. Have not had any in a long time. Something safe for a laquer finish. Anyone have any suggestions?? I already have a cleaner and normally just buff with a cloth afterwords. But now looking for some shine.
  3. New tuner day.... found a neat Korg tuner

    22 March 2017 - 06:09 PM

Doing away with the headstock tuner craze that I have had for several years. I know they are ok for being in a pinch but I found out they are not for every guitar. I have spent quite a bit on some tuners this week. Most are Korgs and I received this one today. It is pretty cool and really is probably one of the fancier ones if not the fanciest one I have ever had. Here is a pic of it. Also a link of a guy demoing one on youtube. I do not think they make this one any more but I found a like new one on reverb. Never had a polyphonic style tuner before. The only thing this one does not have is an external mic. But I can live with that.
  4. Clip tuner does not work well on my firebird

    15 March 2017 - 06:07 AM

I have several clip tuners. None of them work well on my firebird. Not that I cannot tune a guitar but am wanting to make sure the intonation is correct. Now I am kicking myself in the butt for selling my korg rack tuner. What do you guys use? Am waiting for the new handheld Korg to be in stock at sweetwater.
  5. Follow up to my ground hum issue on my new Firebird

    12 March 2017 - 08:13 PM

It was just an instrument cable issue. I have a couple of older guitar cables and thought they were just fine. I went out and purchased a new cable for my Firebird with an angled plug on one end. The little ground popping noise is gone and she is quiet as a mouse. So that issue is gone. I can only imagine if those strats I had would have been way more quiet with this new cord? LOL Oh well

Hey bigtim! Wishing you a great birthday tomorrow. How are things in the great state of Tenn? Has been getting very hot here lately and the beach is starting to get busy. All hell breaks lose at a beach resort when school lets out...yikes!!!
