  3. May I recommend - "While You See A Chance" - Steve Winwood "Tunnel Of Love" - Dire Straits I won't post them, they are so bad 🦃💩 < turkey poo
  4. Indeed. It is a buyers' market and will (probably) remain so at the lower end of the price scale for some time. And that will make it harder for expensive stuff too IMO. There's not much demand for big jazz f-hole guitars either; not economically worth it for Gibson to produce them except in small, special edition runs. There are many guitar makers out there who can offer you a handmade, bespoke guitar at about the same price as a production L4 or even an ES175.
  5. "East/West" - Paul Butterfield Blues Band
  6. I like the Henna set, the psychedelic LP and the V. I like 'em better than those jewel-encrusted ones that came out under HJ. And the motorbike/car association (Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Corvette etc) has been done already. I'm too neck-dot oriented to be able to get around accurately on the 'psychedelic' one, and I wonder why just yellow and blue? Could be..... 🎸
  7. Such a great riff whatever it's played on - one of the 1st things I learned.
  8. I'd like to try one! That's all. Girls will probably dig it (I don't know) - and there are lots of odd-shaped guitar designs out there, always have been. The Theo might even last longer precisely because of that. YMMV eh?
  9. To return to the OP: The Theo is better looking than the Gibson Moderne IMO. Along with the Explorer, it seems to me that each of these design shapes dates from the late 1950s. Am I right? The Theo isn't really 'aimed' at you or me. It's aimed at young players including FEMALES who don't want a grandad-style heavy Les Paul or any 'traditional' design. I quite like the red one and I'm certain they play well and sound good or they'd never have made it into production. How come people on here moan about Gibson just producing fancy high-price LPs for bankers etc, the same old designs, and then when they try something new the same people moan about that too? Give it a rest! If you don't like Gibsons you can always go and buy a Greco. When I first became a member of this forum the convention was that if you didn't like something written or had nothing positive to contribute to a thread, you kept your counsel to yourself and moved on to the next topic. I found that out fairly quickly. Seems that's gone now. You don't have to be rude. As for success; does anyone here (or ANYWHERE else) have a Les Paul made between 1962 and '67? No they don't as production ceased in late 1961 due to poor sales. So you could say they weren't a success during that time. http://www.latesixtieslespauls.com/ Best wishes to all.
  10. "Giant Steps" - John Coltrane
  11. Yes that was his 1st LP with the hit "Fire" on it which was HUGE over here in the UK. The album featured Vincent Crane on organ who went on to form Atomic Rooster with Carl Palmer. Brown didn't have the necessary "look at me I want to be famous" quality, or not enough of it. He was not really extrovert - though he had the idea of wearing a flaming crown as the 'God of Hellfire', which was very unwise as he wanted to dance about while singing. Of course he got burned and that was that. The album I mentioned "Galactic Zoo Dossier" was made about 3(?) years later and he named the band Kingdom Come; not to be confused with the 80s metal band. Brown's Kingdom Come made one further album before he left the music business, returning only occasionally to sing on other people's projects like the Alan Parsons record. He is a GREAT singer IMO though the track you posted could never beat the original, and doesn't really showcase his ability. Now back to Todd.....
  12. "Night Of The Long Grass" - The Troggs Classic 60s B&W promo, deep and meaningless
  13. Arthur Brown is a legendary - and very fine - rock voice. "Galactic Zoo Dossier" is probably dated now but a prog-rock classic. Alan Parsons used him on "Tell-Tale Heart".

Hi James The pickup needs to be flat like the neck one; so yes you do need to make the bridge side of the hole vertical - it looks like it's been roughly done and the guy didn't complete that bit. I am not an expert but from what I can see the rest of it looks very neat. One for @Rabs perhaps? 🎸 Good luck and best wishes.
