Just got back from a good one at a working men's club near Southampton. Band played well.
Nothing else in the book until October at the moment.

    Best wishes to all!

The MAN - one of my favourites....

Muddy's rhythm guitarist, had an amazing distorted tone on the old records.
A great singer/songwriter too - he wrote "Walkin' By Myself", "You're The One", "Sloppy Drunk", "That's All Right", "World's In A Tangle", several other classics.
He once said of the Chess recording sessions - "First we'd do Muddy's stuff, then Walter, then me"...which partly explains the atmosphere on some of his recordings...by that time the drink was flowing.
J.J. Cale produced his album "Gold Tailed Bird" (Freddie King played lead), and the later "All Stars" album (2nd link above) had the superstars lined up several deep to play with him.

One of the Chicago blues greats.

Used to have "Let It Flow" on Capricorn.
    Loved that one.

    Hi GMac
Many thanks for the comment - our "Stormy Monday" starts like the T-Bone version but then our singer insisted on the Allmans chords....I didn't argue!

Hey, jdgm! I wanted to thank you for the tip off on Allan Holdsworth with Soft Machine and Jean Luc Ponty. I can't wait to get both of those albums on iTunes. Also, nice job on Stormy Monday! I like the Allman's version. Have you heard T-Bone Walker's or Bobby "Blue" Bland's? Check 'em out! Hope you're well and happy in "anywhere"! Peace!
