Those little chipped areas where the slots are, he may be right. No expert here, but I am not at all sure that Corian would erode and chip away like that.

I may buy a used guitar, is this finish issue something to worry about?
kidblast replied to Mike CT's topic in Gibson USA
looks like someone took a hammer or soldering iron to the fret edges! LOL! when a file was all they needed... That's a little on the bit too much side.. -

Pull the trigger on this advanced jumbo with neck repair?

My hunch is cock pit error. Letting some people loose on a guitar with tools can sometimes lead to unpleasant results. -

would not really bug me if the price reflected that and of course, done right it does look like the repair job was solid I think the ballpark on repaired neck is 50% from what it would be without the break not sure if that's fair but that seems to be the going rate. -
they are hands down, at the very the top of my list. I wouldn't say my life wouldn't be the same with out all those years since the second album, but, ya it probably wouldn't be. (as a guitarist Anway) the only tour I missed was I think Vapor Trails

people get way too hung up on that question. I was at new years eve party, and someone had asked me if I was still playing and of course, "yes" another person listening in on that conversation proceeded to ask who I thought was the best drummer, bass player, guitar player, Band -- twas easy 1: Neil Peart 2: Geddy Lee 3: Alex Lifeson 4: Rush I already knew he hated Rush, Thankfully that ended the conversation right there! There is no BEST, there's just GREATNESS and it's a legion of players strong.

for in home use the Fender is a good choice if the plan is to do some solo gigging, you'd probably favor the Fishman Loudbox Artist. IMHO the fender on board effects I like better.

LR Baggs are decent sounding pickups. I have a Loudbox Artits and the Fender Acoustasonic JR. They both are pretty good acoustic amps.
