  1. It would be a huge help if you could post pictures detailing the condition. I would also install a good set of strings and check all the electronics. An "as is" sale without strings will probably bring less money, as it's harder for the buyer to determine the playability and neck/fret condition. An easy button for this would be to take it to a local shop and let them install strings. Then you could check out the electronics through one of their amps.
  2. Best glean what you can from the web. I don't think the MIII went over too well with the regular Gibson crowd, but I can claim to have shopped for one a year or two after they were introduced. All that kept me from buying one was the price. I'd still like to have one, but it would have to be cheap.
