  1. However I did really dig Brian Johnson vocal vibes on this jam.....
  2. thanks for the info. Do you think I might be going over-board with a belt sander if it needs extra shaping? I also have diamond blade nut slotting tools if I have to go deeper with the nut slots. I have always thought bone nuts were the more denser material, but compared to this #6 material bone is like butter.
  3. Never-mind..... I'm just going to put this thing aside. There's a guy on eBay that already sells these kind of nuts pre-slotted and shaped for the most part.... I'm going to order a belt sander if I have to do anything more to it.
  4. I need some help. What in gods name tool am I'm going to need to shape a #6 material nut????? The material seems to resist sand paper and files. I'm also worried about my groove cutter tools as well. Thanks in advanced.
  5. My mom was so upset I didn't go to college directly out high school, and I probably would have done well, but my focus was becoming a rock star, and I didn't see how an Engineering Degree (at that time) would contribute to my initial goal..... Although it did work out great for Tom Scholz.
  6. Honestly it's both the far-left and far-right that isn't doing this country any favors.
  7. Never knew he closed shop and was accused of making distasteful comments. Gotta be careful. Seems like people are always looking for something to protest about..... It's been that way in the USA as long as I can remember. I think my generation was able to bleed off some of that energy by going to concerts. Rock N Roll / Metal concerts were a great way to rebel against the Man without having to burn things down. Funny I clearly remember all those insane Holly Rollers and Senate dickheads calling all Heavy Metalers Devil Worshippers. lol... We thought they were just lame and bored individuals.
  8. There was one professor in our Thermal Dynamics course that rang true: He told all of us the below: "Most of you will have the ability to learn, but only 1/3 of you will have the ability to work." I see more of the above now than ever in my long career.
  9. Great story CaliMan!!!! I graduated early, got my own apartment and off to be be a rock star. lol. To me other than marching band, high school was boring and I never had a girl friend in high school, so there was no emotional attachment to make me want to stay and hang out another year.
  10. I was never into Saturday Night Live...... All my pals in high school would watch it, but the times I did watch it, there was this thing made of clay called Mr. Bill and I just thought that was just completely stupid. The shows I watched with my pops were the Smothers Brother's, Flip Wilson and All In the Family..... I wasn't allowed to stay up late and watch Johnny Carson, but when I was able to watch Johnny, that was and is still my favorite late night TV
  11. My rule is never lend more money that can kill a friendship...... Half the time I have lent money to friends, I have never seen it. As for buying guitars..... I have certainly stepped over the red line on more than a few occasions...... Sometimes you just have to go outside the financial guard-band.
  12. I'm not sure if a high school counselor is considered a teacher, but her words will always ring clearly. "Duane, you will have enough credits to graduate high school at the end of your junior year."
  13. If it were me..... I'd keep it and buy another.
  14. As a matter of fact I played it at Venice Beach on an 80 degree day and sweat all over it and now the finish is a little cloudy on the upper bout. I play my guitars and I'll play them anywhere.
  15. I thought it was a fair enough question from the OP. there are members here with tons of acoustic guitars that can provide real life experience, and can help with making a decision. ..... I've purchased a few guitars off the experience of others.
