Don't get me wrong, I think Slash is great, but I could have laid down a better solo than that one. I would have let some of the phrasing breathe a little more, rather than the constant playing of 16th notes of pentatonic scales.

I thought Slash's lead work was better in GNR. I think a better solo could have been laid down... something with a little more phrasing. Sounds a bit plucky is some areas.

Cool playing ... To me it sounds a lot like George Harrison on the White Album.

Stained the back and cleaned the guitar up a bit... gonna wait a few days then hit it with nitro clear. -

😄 If they did give free samples I would be planted at every See's Candy shop and I would get nothing done. My personal favorites are the dark chocolate molasses chips.... I think I may have muncheed myself into insulin shock a few times with those suckers. -

The headstock and "neck heel from hell" stingers are painted. Now for some cleanup work and the stain for the body and neck. -
I dig the tune Black Coffee.

Tman So sorry about your sweeter half, I can't even begin to imagine. Glad your finding some healing through playing, what I have learn is we all grieve in different ways. But glad to hear you are seeing some light.... And it's okay to be depressed, moody and anxious during your time of transition...... all perfectly normal.

This weekend I finished painting the headstock stinger and started on the neck heel stinger. Interesting thing when painting over a porous medium like mahogany it takes patience and quite a few coats of nitro. As you can see on the neck heel that is 2.5 coats of nitro and the pores are very visible even with two passes of Timbermate wood filler prior to painting. I'm finding I'm needing 7 coats. -

"Chibson" implies fakes from China. The two components I'm working with are a neck from the Gibson Kalamazoo Factory in Michigan that was originally attached on a 1982 30th anniversary Les Paul that needed some work when the headstock was snapped in two. The body is also a product of Michigan as well from a well renown Luthier I never heard of... lol. As for me giving Gibson a run for their money.... I highly doubt it.... Every Gibson I own (and I have many) are outstanding instruments. All I'm doing is trying to get two components to work together, and so far everything seems to be working out. As for dubbing it anything, maybe a FrakenGib would be something I would consider. -
