  1. Honestly it's both the far-left and far-right that isn't doing this country any favors.
  2. Never knew he closed shop and was accused of making distasteful comments. Gotta be careful. Seems like people are always looking for something to protest about..... It's been that way in the USA as long as I can remember. I think my generation was able to bleed off some of that energy by going to concerts. Rock N Roll / Metal concerts were a great way to rebel against the Man without having to burn things down. Funny I clearly remember all those insane Holly Rollers and Senate dickheads calling all Heavy Metalers Devil Worshippers. lol... We thought they were just lame and bored individuals.
  3. There was one professor in our Thermal Dynamics course that rang true: He told all of us the below: "Most of you will have the ability to learn, but only 1/3 of you will have the ability to work." I see more of the above now than ever in my long career.
  4. Great story CaliMan!!!! I graduated early, got my own apartment and off to be be a rock star. lol. To me other than marching band, high school was boring and I never had a girl friend in high school, so there was no emotional attachment to make me want to stay and hang out another year.
  5. I was never into Saturday Night Live...... All my pals in high school would watch it, but the times I did watch it, there was this thing made of clay called Mr. Bill and I just thought that was just completely stupid. The shows I watched with my pops were the Smothers Brother's, Flip Wilson and All In the Family..... I wasn't allowed to stay up late and watch Johnny Carson, but when I was able to watch Johnny, that was and is still my favorite late night TV
  6. My rule is never lend more money that can kill a friendship...... Half the time I have lent money to friends, I have never seen it. As for buying guitars..... I have certainly stepped over the red line on more than a few occasions...... Sometimes you just have to go outside the financial guard-band.
  7. I'm not sure if a high school counselor is considered a teacher, but her words will always ring clearly. "Duane, you will have enough credits to graduate high school at the end of your junior year."
  8. If it were me..... I'd keep it and buy another.
  9. As a matter of fact I played it at Venice Beach on an 80 degree day and sweat all over it and now the finish is a little cloudy on the upper bout. I play my guitars and I'll play them anywhere.
  10. I thought it was a fair enough question from the OP. there are members here with tons of acoustic guitars that can provide real life experience, and can help with making a decision. ..... I've purchased a few guitars off the experience of others.

When I started playing clubs at 14, my mom made me wear ear plugs, and I'm glad she did. It just became habit to always wear them. Now with IEM's and electronic drums, nothing is loud.
  12. When I need to play lead on an acoustic I break out my Gibby Bluesking EC30. Plays like butter.
  13. Well no duh the joint is at the 16th fret. I just didn't have that option with the components I was working with so I made well with what I had, and for a total of about $800 I'm gonna have a nice playing and sounding geetar when it's all done. And really dude you're not the final approval on projects or what is good or not good. .... I'm happy and that's all that counts.
  14. Looks fine to me considering what needed to be done to keep the fretboard end from imposing on the neck pickup cavity. It's comfortable and nobody is going to see it, unless I decide to pull a Jimi Hendrix and play with my teeth. Plus I've seen some of those PRS neck joints from hell that were done on purpose..... What I did was done out of necessity to fit a 1982 Gibson neck on a 59 spec Les Paul body.......... I'm pleased so far.
