  1. I have 12 acoustic guitars and my favorite is my 1990 J-160E.
  2. Well no duh the joint is at the 16th fret. I just didn't have that option with the components I was working with so I made well with what I had, and for a total of about $800 I'm gonna have a nice playing and sounding geetar when it's all done. And really dude you're not the final approval on projects or what is good or not good. .... I'm happy and that's all that counts.
  3. Looks fine to me considering what needed to be done to keep the fretboard end from imposing on the neck pickup cavity. It's comfortable and nobody is going to see it, unless I decide to pull a Jimi Hendrix and play with my teeth. Plus I've seen some of those PRS neck joints from hell that were done on purpose..... What I did was done out of necessity to fit a 1982 Gibson neck on a 59 spec Les Paul body.......... I'm pleased so far.
  4. The first coat when spray nitro is a mist coat. I found it helps the subsequent coats from running. i dunno man.... it works for me. lol
  5. Got the paint tent set up and removed the nut and laid down 2.5 coats of nitro clear. Only 12 more coats to go.
  6. Don't get me wrong, I think Slash is great, but I could have laid down a better solo than that one. I would have let some of the phrasing breathe a little more, rather than the constant playing of 16th notes of pentatonic scales.
  7. I thought Slash's lead work was better in GNR. I think a better solo could have been laid down... something with a little more phrasing. Sounds a bit plucky is some areas.
  8. Cool playing ... To me it sounds a lot like George Harrison on the White Album.
  9. As long as it stays in tune I'm good.....
  10. Stained the back and cleaned the guitar up a bit... gonna wait a few days then hit it with nitro clear.
  11. 😄 If they did give free samples I would be planted at every See's Candy shop and I would get nothing done. My personal favorites are the dark chocolate molasses chips.... I think I may have muncheed myself into insulin shock a few times with those suckers.
  12. The headstock and "neck heel from hell" stingers are painted. Now for some cleanup work and the stain for the body and neck.
  13. I dig the tune Black Coffee.
  14. Tman So sorry about your sweeter half, I can't even begin to imagine. Glad your finding some healing through playing, what I have learn is we all grieve in different ways. But glad to hear you are seeing some light.... And it's okay to be depressed, moody and anxious during your time of transition...... all perfectly normal.
