  1. FZ is great wise man, shares his knowledge always, and the SGs are a sure shot, no matter which one as to start with.

    Greetings from Brazil!

  2. The other day I was checking out some instruments, just looking for something new, and I saw this pretty something-burst SG with a batwing pickguard it had an imprint in the back of the headstock - Epiphone Limited/Custom Shop, when you go to Gibsons site there is no Epi Custom Shop (as there is Gibson's), in the end, that guitar is not even catalogued by the Gibson site, what is the meaning of that mark, where are these guitars made, or are these just limited production instruments? Do these really have anything different or significantly better than a regular Epi? I know some do have special pickups, do they keep a better value over time than a regular Epiphone? Please, fill me in, I didn't even try it because when I like a guitar, it might be a financial problem. Cheers!
  3. Loosen those strings a good bit and make sure your tuners are well attached to the headstock. Newe guitars are like wild horses, ride on! It will take some time before it goes your way. Also, try to lube those tuners with a little bit of grafite, it can be from a pencil or the very same powder used to lube keys and other hardware (solid lube). You could use the opportunity and put a little of it at the nut grooves and the bridge, can't do no harm. Just try not to make a mess. No, it won't stain. Just don't use it to lube pots or electronics as its a great electricity conductor as well, use it wisely.
