  1. I wouldn't worry at all about the COA , or the guitar. I have two Gibsons built about the same time as the 42 Legend in question. Mine are both 2015's. One has a COA with a typed model name and the other is handwritten. Both came from reputable shops that sell Gibson guitars. https://i.imgur.com/zUGhE2R.jpg

That guitar is stunning. If it sounds and plays as half as good as it looks, you've found a keeper. I love the look and smooth feel of ebony fingerboards. That one really pops with those contrasting parallelograms. Enjoy!

    68' SJ?

The seller never responded to my inquiries about this guitar. It's still listed for sale on the local Craigslist, so I'm not sure what's happening. I'm moving on. Thanks for everyone's feedback

    68' SJ?

Thanks for everyone's comments. This forum is a great resource. I've reached out to the seller with a few questions and requested a better pic of the back braces. No response as of yet.

Sounds very nice. Thanks for sharing the sound clip.

    68' SJ?

Thanks for the pic, Dave. Yours doesn't look over built at all. For some reason I thought they had moved to heavier bracing and a larger plywood bridge plate by 1968. Can anyone explain serial numbers from 1968? I see some in the 500,000 - 520 ,000 range, and others in the 900,000's. Is this just Gibson being Gibson? Or is there SN sequencing that makes sense?

    68' SJ?

This guitar is for sale near me and I'm having a hard time verifying the build date. It's advertised as a 68 and visually that seems correct. Can anyone here confirm? I know the guitar is a bit overbuilt, but I'd be interested in hearing anyone chime in regarding tone, specs, build quality, etc.
  8. I installed size 2A bone pins made by Bob Colosi on my 2014 Hummingbird New Vintage and they fit perfectly
  9. Advanced scalloped, red, and uncooked. Also, hide glue, rectangular bridge, cut through bone saddle, waverly tuners, trance amulet pickup Here's an old link to Gibson's page https://web.archive.org/web/20150816030102/http://www.gibson.com/Products/Acoustic-Instruments/2016/Sheryl-Crow-Southern-Jumbo-Supreme.aspx
  10. There was also a "SCSJ Supreme" limited run in 2015
  11. That is fantastic. One of my favorite Zimmerman tunes of all time. If only he could sing it that well. Nicely played too. I remember the saga of your SCSJ and was sorry to see it go. But I think it worked out fine. That J45 Vintage sounds great!
  12. Thanks all. I appreciate the input.
  13. Looks like it's pending already. That one went fast
