This group of 9 is thought to have been ordered in its entirity by a Japanese dealer.     Hi Red,
    Hope all is well with you! I thought I'd remembered you having a vintage Texan (or reissue) & maybe an IB Texan too. I have the IB version and wanted your suggestion on strings for it. Also, if you have both what do you notice the most in sound between the two versions.

    Are you using 11's or 12's? you could always try to go up a size and see how that effects the timbre overall, and the high E especially. You could even just go up on that string itself. I use Gibson Masterbuilt strings. I like the sound of them on my guitars, and they settle in (get thumpy) quickly.

    Hi Red....I made the trade for that AJ short scale mahogany, at the time it had old strings, sound was compressed dry woody, I thought PERFECT. THEN I changed the strings, and the thing came alive, and became TOO bright for my ears, and especially the treble "E" , which seems very jangly. Still a good guitar, just want to tone it down a bit...since you own a similar one,, I was hoping ...
