  1. Not bashing anyone but I'm confused by this post................One sentence says it played very nicely but after an hour its now unplayable? Not seeing how that could happen without some bad adjustments. I've yet to have ever received a brand new never-played guitar and not had to have it setup at least a little bit. Every guitar is 'unplayable' if its not set up worth a crap.
  2. Thought some here might like these. Of course I couldn't leave without getting this............... Not a bad day in my world............
  3. I've heard that there were around 170 of the Lzzy Explorers made and there won't be any more made. I actually contacted Gibson directly just before I bought mine because I bought one on a site that showed they were 'on order'. After waiting a couple of weeks with no updates I contacted Gibson and was told that none were showing in their system nor were any more scheduled for production. That was a couple of months after release in 2014. I've also ordered guitars in the past, in particular a Bill Kelliher Golden Axe, from a dealer that was still taking orders long after the initial run ended. After again calling Gibson directly and being told no more were in stock and no more would be made I called the dealer and they had NO idea they wouldn't be getting more. Some dealers just blanket order models then advertise them as 'coming' and have no clue that they're never receiving them. Unfortunately, I would bet the farm you won't get a brand new one.
  4. I'm actually meeting the band in August, if I haven't heard any word by then I'll ask Lzzy HERSELF!!!!
  5. I'm on a Halestorm FB page and there have been a lot of recent photos of her with this ebony version of her Explorer. If that ever comes up for sale to the public I'll be the first one in line to order one.
  6. I'm sure most of us have seen this guitar............does anyone know if Gibson plans on making this black version available to the public? I think it blows the white one away............
  7. How awesome would THAT be to have her, that axe and stack waiting for you when you get home after work!
  8. I read on an Instagram message that showed a bunch of Lzzy's in production at the Gibson factory that the run is limited to 200. If that's the case then I'm more stoked than ever to own one.
  9. Yeah, that's why I put this guy at the end..........
  10. You could probably recreate it yourself. Just take some pliers, bend the posts forward about 15 degrees, put the bridge back on and voila!
  11. No, I didn't take any photos, it was very noticeable though.
  12. I went back to the dealer this morning. The problem was remedied, the bridge posts were bent. The repair guy said that the part of the factory posts that go into the body are very short and somehow got bent. Good thing was that the drilled holes were fine, it was just an issue with the posts. They replaced them with two brand new Gibson OEM posts and the bridge is now level. The salesperson was mistaken when I told him the bridge was tilted, he thought I meant the position of the bridge in relation to being parallel with the stoptail. He miscommunicated that to the Gibson tech, hence the tech telling him 'they're all set up that way'. Anyways.......all is well again with the world and I can sleep better tonight.......................
  13. Thanks for the photo and everyone's input, that does help. Mine is nowhere near that level. I'm headed to the store in about an hour, we'll see what they say. If the posts somehow got bent during manufacturing it'll just be replacing them. If the holes are mis-drilled though I'll be looking for another. The dealer has a 30 day refund policy so there's no issues about me getting stuck with it but it's just a pain now of having to buy one online and worry about shipping issues. Damn.............
  14. The actual problem is that the entire bridge is tilted on a forward angle towards the headstock. I can't take a photo right now because its still at the dealer and I didn't even bring it home yesterday, after my tech looked at it, it went immediately back to the store for them to look at. Instead of being perpendicular to the guitar body the bridge is tilted downward and is very noticeable. It looks like the posts are actually bent towards the headstock.I've read that this is a frequent issue on some Heritage LP's. The main problem is if the holes are improperly drilled and the posts have no choice but to angle then the holes need to be filled in, re-drilled, then the posts put back in. I'm not willing to do that on a brand new $2500 guitar. I spoke with the guy who sold it to me at the store and he said that he called Gibson directly and ran the situation by them. According to him the Gibson tech said that 'those guitars are specifically set up that way' but that's not true at all based on feedback and every other photo of this model I've looked at. Every photo I've found shows the bridge completely flat and one dealer I spoke to said mine is just another example of poor Gibson QC. I also called Gibson and spoke to someone who said that he couldn't tell for sure if it was an issue but did say that 'if a certified luthier/repairman says its a problem then its most likely a problem'. My tech said that intonation will be all but impossible because the saddles that need to be moved back can't be moved far enough because of the slope of the bridge and in his opinion its 'unuseable'. As soon as he looked at it he closed the case and told me to take it back to the dealer. I think I'm just going to get a refund and buy elsewhere.
  15. Thanks. I got a call back from the salesperson who told me he spoke to a tech at Gibson. Supposedly the tech said to check the Gibson homepage and look at their photos of the Lzzy Explorer. According to him the bridge on mine with the tilt is EXACTLY the same as in the photo however I just checked the photos and the Gibson site bridge looks pretty damn level to me. I'm going to have a talk with him tomorrow.
