  1. I liked it a lot. All of it, your playing and writing and voice. You sound a bit reserved or maybe worried about messing up. I have trouble singing in front of anyone, and at times mess up a song for sure. The best ones for me are when i just don’t worry about it and just enjoy the moment.
  2. I would have to go with the new 60’s J-45. I love slope shoulders. Love the look of the contrasting pick guard and the look of the Gibson logo on it. And i like the difference in tone that the adjustable saddle brings.
  3. That really sucks. I know we had a high anticipation for your reveal.
  4. Looking through clearance section on Musicians Friend a few months back, saw that on certain models they were offering special financing, and this was listed as one of them that qualified. I have always been curious about these as they are a close reproduction to the old Texans, and a little anxious as well as sometimes i have trouble with narrower necks. Took the plunge. Took it out of the box, and first impression was wow. The finish is just awesome, in person it does not have the reddish tinge on the edges it just looks antiqued. The spruce on top is lovely with lots of silking. Tuned it up and was so happy to find that the narrowness of the neck didn’t bother me at all. In fact the slim profile of the neck as a whole is very comfortable. It has a great tone, but seemed a bit quiet. I plugged it in, and the pickup in it is also quite good, very realistic actual sound of the guitar. The pins were cheap plastics, and i changed them out for tusq for now. I will say as i have seen in this forum before that the braces were huge. I don’t know that i have ever had a guitar that had such tall braces. So, i debated what i wanted to do, and decided that I liked it enough that I sent it to a really good local luthier Keith George, and had him shave the braces down and shape them. It is no longer quiet, and the top vibrates with lots of sustain. For me this is one of those bonding guitars, i have loved it from the beginning, and i just can’t seem to put it down. Well worth the price as they are beginning to clearance these out.
  5. I bought a blue Peavey entry level electric and amp, broke my hand soon after and eventually I think I traded it toward an ovation ultra.
  6. Very nice. Sounds really balanced. Nice tune.
  7. Very nice. Thank you. Love that bird. That blue just kinda feels relaxing.
  8. Those did come with zero frets, though that looks like someone tried to pull it and damaged the fretboard. They have decent tone and volume, i used to have the cherry burst one. Here in the US those are now considered vintage, so in good condition they go for around $200-$250 dollars. That one looks to be in just fair condition.
  9. Ship date looks like 1/28 on those. I am really thinking that I want one. I don’t have a maple back guitar and i like what they have done with that one.
  10. If you want to make your aj a keeper you can always order one from Bob Collosi. He makes great saddles.
  11. It kind of looks like the old Alvarez copies to me, especially the pickguard.
  12. I was able to play a couple of his AJ models at a guitar shop in Lawrence KS, they are super light and have an amazing tone.
