  1. I have an 83 Firebrand "The Paul", with nothing really "Firebrand" about it - wine red paint job, non-burned gold logo, etc. It's basically like a LP Special: uncarved flat top, neck not angled from the body, dot inlays, 2 T-Top HBs. I added a LP Special pickguard to mine to cover up where the previous idiot owner had attached the truss rod cover where a pickguard would be, god knows why...They also thought a gigantic brass Kahler tremolo would be a good idea too...
  2. I always thought these were cool, still hoping to find one at a good price someday. The body shape reminds me of a Rickenbacker bass (especially that long upper horn) with a Trini Lopez headstock thrown in the mix.
  3. After reading about this I did the same to my Cherry Sunburst 60s Tribute w/P-90s, a very nice improvement!
  4. My SG-3 has aftermarket Planet Waves locking tuners on it that do very well, I was going to switch them out to the standard Grover tulips or minis that I use on all my guitars but they have worked so well I decided to leave them on. The locking mechanism is all on the back of the tuner, which I like, but it did take me a bit of getting used to the look of the mix of chrome and black parts on them (not sure if they make them on all-chrome or gold or not.)
