Just to add a data point, I have a Casino Coupe, the tuners are a wee bit stiff but otherwise quite serviceable and I have no plans on ever replacing them. I've changed the strings several times since getting this guitar (which I absolutely love). As with any vintage style (short post) tuner it does take a bit of skill and patience to do just right. No slippage so far. Ken
